Courage to be yours truly. Step into your authentic creative self: 4 questions + 3 easy things you can do

Q

How do you see yourself?

How do you feel about yourself and your life?

How does it feel to be you?

How comfortable are you being yourself, truly?

Want to find out?

1: Spend as long as you can totally alone. No cheating: No books, computer, TV or cell phone. No distractions. No relationships. Just you.

2: Relax + surrender totally into simply being you. {no doing} This kind of undoing just might be the making of you.

"Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be and embracing who we are."

Brené Brown

3: Give yourself time + permission to explore what you want, to feel your emotions all the way through when they arise {you dont have to dwell there, unless of course, its amazing, but be this present} be this alive.

In this world one of the most interesting things is how little time we actually get to spend totally alone + get to experience who we are. We are missing out on this and all that this experience empowers in us.

I guard my alone time fiercely for this reason.

When I first began writing, which seems like a past life memory now, I was deliberately alone for weeks without connecting to others just to explore {most believed me to be living in England, so I could just about pull this off! } For nine months, I lived alone: I didn’t socialize or hang out. Only when I had to I would talk on the phone.  I simply wrote, hiked, and got groceries when I absolutely had to. It was an immense time of discovery, healing + transformation. I think I grew more in that nine months than at any other time.

I became myself.

To create one's own world in any of the arts takes courage.

Georgia O'Keefe

"You so deserve to be totally yourself. You deserve this. When you do this, you not only achieve more in your life, you grow stronger in who you are + you contribute what you are uniquely here to share in the world"

Now I know this kind of retreat isn’t always possible. But what is possible is to create enough time for yourself to explore who you are + whats most important to you {what drives me}

Now I increase the quality of the experience in the time that I do have: I immerse in total silence: both inside and out. I lie very still + clear my mind. I listen to my breath only. I feel only my heartbeat. I connect in to nature, usually through trees.

Life can be this beautiful.

Indulge this in your life. See what happens. The experience speaks for itself.

Love, as ever,

Premakarini xo
